The Gangotri group which is present near the Garhwal Himalaya region of Uttarakhand has Chaukhamba I as their highest peak. There are four peaks in total as a result of which Chaukhamba got its name.

Khirsu is a quaint village located 14-15 km away from Pauri Garhwal which offers some of the most enthralling views of the Chaukhamba.
