Climate
The Himalayas play an extensive role when it comes to the Indian climate. It does not allow the extreme cold to reach India and also is responsible for the huge rainfall and fertile soil of North India.
Peaks
The highest peak of the entire planet is located in the Himalayas. Mt. Everest stands at an almighty height. Apart from being the highest Indian peak, Kanchenjunga is also the third highest peak in the entire world. Some other remarkable mention-worthy peaks of the Indian Himalayas are Nanda Devi, Saltoro Kangri, Rimo, Kamet.
Flora and Fauna
The vegetation differs in the Upper and the Lower Himalayas. Pine trees, oak forests, and even grasslands are found extensively in the Himalayas.
Snow Leopard, Himalayan Tahr, Himalayan Yak, etc. are some of the exotic wildlife species that are only found in the Himalayas.

Let’s face it, the abode of snow can sometimes be tough for human beings too. After all, it is a dangerous place with hailstorms, avalanches, and all the unknown difficulties. Often people get lost and never return. But these are linked to the tales of Yeti. Yeti is considered to be a snowman who roams in the snow-capped peaks and kills people. However, there is no scientific evidence and without that, the stories of Yeti are the same as that of ghost stories.
